We learn so much over the course of our lifetime, but how well do we really fare when it’s time to put that knowledge to the test? For the 10th straight year, Literacy Volunteers of Greater Sanford will be hosting Trivia Night, and we are pleased to announce our sponsorship of $500 to the event, as well as a donation of a gallon of maple syrup from the locally renowned Hilltop Boilers.
Trivia Night will take place at The Town Club at 4 Washington Street in Sanford on Friday, January 18th from 7-9 p.m. Doors will open at 6 p.m. Shawn Sullivan of the former Sanford News will be the emcee for the night, testing teams on their knowledge of categories such as science, music, current events, food, and more!
SIS will also be entering a team, so do you have what it takes to outsmart the friendly faces of your neighborhood bank? Teams consist of four to eight participants at the cost of $20 per person. Appetizers and other refreshments will be served.
Literacy Volunteers supports the needs of adults, especially those reading below the ninth-grade level, with free, confidential one-on-one tutoring by trained adult volunteers. Their approach is student-centered so that literacy goals match life goals related to the family, employment and citizenship.
