SIS Bank Linda Cates (right) is the most recent employee to be selected for the Bank’s Employee Donation Program. Bank President, Blaine Boudreau presents her with a $500 check that she has chosen to go the Waterboro Food Pantry.
The new year is in full swing, and SIS Bank is pleased to announce the continuation of our Employee Donation Program for 2019! Linda Cates is the 34th employee to have the honor of naming a favorite local organization and chose the Waterboro Community Pantry as the lucky recipient for January.
The Waterboro Community Pantry (WCP) provides food and household supplies to local families and individuals in need. The WCP is open on Tuesdays, from 4–7pm on the first Tuesday of each month and from 1–4pm all other Tuesdays.
Linda, a floating teller for SIS Bank, selected the WCP because she has been involved with the Pantry since its early stages. In fact, it was fellow SIS Bank employee Julie Kelley who got Linda interested in WCP as it was being built in 2015, while Linda was working at the Waterboro branch of SIS. The two, along with other volunteers from SIS, helped the WCP to set up shop—clearing the land by cutting brush and small trees, and hauling truck loads to the dump.
“[The Pantry Board] had a vision…and look at what all of their devotion and hard work has done! I am sure they can use this [donation], and I feel good that it is for the needs of many,” stated Linda when asked why she chose the WCP.
“What a great choice for our first donation of 2019! Congratulations and thank you, Linda, for helping to feed and support our community members,” says SIS Bank President & CEO Blaine Boudreau.
