As spring nears, many of us are itching to get out of our homes and enjoy the outdoors. But what about those less fortunate than us, who don’t have a place to call home? Thankfully for some, homelessness will not be an issue for much longer. SIS Bank is pleased to announce its recent donation of $2,500 to the Cross Roads House, a homeless shelter in Portsmouth, NH.
Founded in 1892, Cross Roads House provides transitional and emergency shelter as well as basic necessities to homeless men, women and children in the Seacoast area. The Shelter also provides programs and services to the families and individuals they serve to help these people get back on their feet and into permanent housing. In 2018 alone, Cross Roads House helped 527 people, including 31 families and 58 children, totaling 38,167 bed nights of shelter.
“Many families and individuals become susceptible to homelessness every year. It’s rewarding to know we can support the needs of our local community members with this donation and help them to get back on their feet and improve their lives,” said SIS Bank President & CEO Blaine Boudreau.
